I remember being restless and unable to sleep the night before my last day in the studio. We only had one day left to write and record the last song for the record. I think the word "worry" was an understatement. I prayed that God would help me to sleep so I could be rested for the next day and also to bring us the perfect song.

They say you don't get what you don't ask for, and well, God showed up the next day in a BIG way! I don't know why it surprises me because it shouldn't. He's God right? We worked from 9:30am to 10:30pm and we all left the studio with smiles on our faces. It was a Good Day!

We had spent the day doing what the song talks about by "living in the moment." Instead of letting worry consume us, we enjoyed the journey and watched God work a true miracle. The song I was so worried about and thought would just be a "filler song" on the album ended up being the song we would put out as the first Radio Single. It truly was a good day to be alive!

Lyrics

It's A Good Day
(Jaime Thietten, Shaun Shankel, Buckley Miller, Robert Morrison)

'Nother Day too much to do
Keep checkin' things off
Seems like you'll never get through yeah
And life keeps on flyin' by

Always say yes, never say no
Spinnin' those plates
'Round and around you go
Never stop to ask yourself why
But hold on, let's wait a minute

It's a Good Day good day to be alive
Everyone sing now
So let's do more than just survive
That's what I'm sayin'
Don't lose sight
Of all the beauty that surrounds you
Don't let it pass you by
It's a good day to be alive

Well the birds don't run and hide
When the sun gets stuck
Behind the clouds in the sky
They know it's gonna be alright
When the flowers
Feel the rain comin' down
They don't melt into the ground
And question the grand design
Cuz the sun will come back around yea

It doesn't matter, the path that you take
Just keep your eyes open and see the love along the way, yeah
